1. Connect iPod
  2. In iTunes, click iPod Preferences button and select ‘Enable FireWire disk use’
  3. In Terminal, cp -R /Volumes/IPOD_NAME/iPod_Control/Music . where IPOD_NAME is the name you gave it the first time you plugged it in.

Blah blah blah virus blah blah Outlook blah blah blah FBI. On my iMac, I use the Mail program that comes with Mac OS X, which, incidentally, imported all 2000 messages from my old Outlook Express — Applescript rocks. On my Linux laptop, I use Evolution, which comes with Ximian GNOME. Evolution, for those who don’t know, looks and feels just like Outlook on Windows, only without a built-in Office Assistant popping up and saying things like “It looks like you’re writing a virus; would you like some help?”

All I want for Christmas is a skydiving lesson.
