Mike Sanders: The Chopped Liver Controversy. Hey, look, I’m “Best Pilgrim”. Heh. As I told Mike in email, we had a similarly pointless awards ceremony one year in band camp when I was in high school. (Yes, I was in band in high school. I played the euphonium. “Gesundheit.” “Thank you.”) I was voted “Best Pilgrim”. I was also in Pennsylvania All-State Band three years in a row, but I liked the “Best Pilgrim” award better.
Ambrosia Software: Deimos Rising [via Axodys]. Heh. I downloaded this, purchased it online, got my registration code, and scp’d it to Dora’s iBook via our wireless network, so she can play it on the plane. And by “she”, I mean “we”. And by “we”, I mean “I”.
Today’s Zen quotation is from Hakuin (1685-1768), via Daily Zen:
Truly, is anything Missing now? Nirvana is right here, Before our eyes; This very place is the Lotus Land, This very body The Buddha.
Sendoff
I will be out surviving the airports of the east coast all day. With any luck, I’ll end up in New Orleans, along with my girlfriend, my parents, and my luggage. The odds of achieving this goal without incident? 0 in 1.
Brian Andreas: Heading South. They drove south one winter until they could stand outside with no coats on & we never saw them again.
New pictures: Christmas 2001.
Compared to Dean Allen, my dog isn’t as cool, my house isn’t as big, and my sendoff isn’t as passionate, but she’s all I’ve ever had, it’s all I’ve ever hoped for, and this is all you’re going to get. Happy holidays.
