Microsoft: License 6.0 Launch Period Extended.

Q: What good will extending the Launch Period do, when in the end you are still raising prices on all your customers?
A: Microsoft is not raising prices, although we recognize that some customers will pay more for their software. Thanks for clearing that up.

Q: But how do you respond to analysts who say this is a price hike?
A: While prices have not changed as part of License 6.0 programs, we recognize that customers will be affected in different ways. … We realize that most customers have complicated licensing environments, often purchasing through a combination of licensing programs, which makes it difficult for them to determine exactly how they will be affected. You created your customers’ licensing environments; don’t turn around and blame them if they’re too complicated.

Q: How can customers make good choices if they can’t be sure you aren’t just going to change the rules on them?
A: We are making these changes based on customer feedback to simplify our licensing programs while providing more choice. Good luck with that.

If this is how you treat your customers, how much would I have to pay for the additional privilege of not being treated as a customer?
