The Miami Herald has redesigned their site and broken my links to Dave Barry’s current and past columns. The new site has no obvious search mechanism, and the redesign just happened, so Google still points me to the old URL. According to this page, it doesn’t matter whether I find Dave Barry or not, because my links will only last for seven days. Older articles are locked up in the “Newsbank” and cost $2.95 per article to view. They say you need to create a Passport account just for the privilege of paying them money for last week’s fish wrappings; it does not appear to be related to Microsoft Passport, but it’s just as obnoxious. Bye Bye Dave Barry.
