Movable Type has built-in RSS syndication. (Technically, it has built-in syndication to any format, but RSS is one of the predefined formats that works out of the box.) So I no longer need to use a PHP script to create RSS dynamically. Which means that the URL for my syndication has changed from /xml/rss.php to /xml/rss.xml. But the old PHP URL still works, because I rewrote the script to just output the contents of rss.xml. So if you’re already subscribed, there’s no need to do anything; the old URL will work forever. But if you’re a new subscriber or you’re just plain anal, you can use the new and improved RSS feed, which is infinitesimally faster.

Another nice change about MT’s syndication is that the link for each RSS item is the permanent archive of my post, not the first link in the body. I like this way better; I think it ends up making more sense for readers when Radio users drop-kick my posts into their weblogs. They get the title linked to my weblog, then the post which has its own links. There was a good reason why I didn’t do it that way in my PHP script, but I can’t remember what it was.
