Since posting Dancing wombats, Java edition, I have received several visitors through Google searching for dancing wombats, for which I am currently the #1 authoritative source. I have no idea what would possess someone to go to Google and type “dancing wombats”; perhaps they were looking for this Australian Christmas Carol instead:
On the TWELFTH day of Christmas,
My true love sent to me,
Twelve possums playing,
Eleven lizards leaping,
Ten wombats washing,
Nine crocs a-snoozing?
Eight dingos dancing,
Seven emus laying,
Six sharks a-surfing,
Five kangaroos,
Four lyrebirds,
Three wet galahs,
Two snakes on skis,
And a kookaburra in a gum tree.
I couldn’t make that up if I tried. (And to think, just yesterday, we were wondering if the web had become boring.)
