The Register: Microsoft’s anti-Unix campaign backfires. For those of you who haven’t been following this the past few days, Microsoft unveiled a new advertising campaign called “We Have The Way Out”, attempting to target UNIX users (mostly Solaris, but also by loose association, Linux and BSD) to switch to Windows. They set up a web site, WeHaveTheWayOut.com, which was naturally powered by Apache on FreeBSD. The irony of this did not go unnoticed, prompting a hasty DNS switch to point the domain to a server powered by IIS 5 on Windows. This new server was promptly hacked, and currently reads “No web site is configured at this address.”

Update: the site is finally up and running. I still prefer WeHaveTheWayIn.com.
