The Register: AltaVista in “Bible club” web search porn outrage. Apparently, Altavista is serving up porn banners when users search for anything with the word “club” in it, including “Bible club”. I actually turned off Guidescope long enough to try to reproduce this, but couldn’t; helpfully, The Register has included a screenshot of the offending ad (work-safe). I did get a pop-under ad for Classmates.com when I left, though. Um, do we really have to mention which search engine you should be using instead?
