Kevin Altis recently asked me about user-friendly (read: graphical) programs for editing Python source code on Mac OS X. He was not impressed by my suggestion that he use the graphical version of Emacs for OS X. Well, Pepper is a nice graphical code editor; BBEdit is another. Both also work under Mac OS 9. Pepper is cheaper ($35 for a single-user license); BBEdit does more and has a better tag line.
