Rob Valliere: 2002 Linux Web Browser Review. (Update: link no longer valid, anyone have a copy?) [via Slashdot: Linux Web Browsers Reviewed]
The best browsers are Galeon 1.0.3, Mozilla 0.9.8 and Opera 6.0 TP3.
… While Galeon 1.0.3 itself is a small download (2.0 MB RPM), it requires Mozilla 0.9.8 and needs a fairly up-to-date set of GNOME library RPMs. Finding out what dependencies are needed may require some effort and depends on the version of GNOME installed.
When I was installing Debian, a long-time Debian user emailed me with advice and also said that once I got it installed and had used it for about a month, I’d Get It and become a real snob about issues like this. Well, it’s been less than 48 hours, and I’ve actually only used it for about 5 hours because I still have to boot into Windows during the day, but I already Get It, and I’ve already become a real snob about issues like this.
Difficult? apt-get install galeon worked wonders for me.
