I received this iCard from a “Dive Into OS X” reader (jpeg, 21K). It reads:
Dive Into OS X helped me restore my lost NetInfo database. You are a life saver.
Thank you so much.
(This presumably refers to these instructions on restoring NetInfo without having made a proper backup.)
Unfortunately, as it was sent through Apple iCards and does not appear to include the person’s return address, I can not reply directly, but you’re quite welcome. I got the tip from a trainer coworker of mine in Raleigh, who got it from another trainer in Cupertino, who most likely got it from someone else, and so forth. You’d be amazed how much useful information like this is stuck in a game of “whisper down the lane”; I’m just the first one who wrote it down and got Google to index it.
