Another lesson from biology: diversity is key. Think Code Red, NIMDA, Klez… How much damage would these viruses be able to create if there were 10 major email clients, each with 10% market share? Especially if none of them featured a little paperclip that popped up while you were typing and said It looks like you’re writing a virus; would you like some help?
