New way to abuse HTML discovered

TableArt: the 2002 invitational. [via Eric Costello] TableArt is … pictures, designs or creations made with the fantasmagorical technology of tables in HTML.

Here’s my entry:

   
 
     
 

It uses table markup for structure (as required by the contest) but CSS for borders, colors, and sizing. It’s accessible: the table contains a summary attribute that describes the artwork for blind users with screen readers; also, the entire artwork resizes according to your text size preferences, even in IE. And it validates as XHTML 1.1. Who says web standards can’t be fun?
