CandyBar for Mac OS X is quite cool. It was only a matter of time before someone figured out how to change all those lickable toolbar icons and slap a nice GUI on it. We already have custom login panels, boot panels, and dock poofs. (Visage is a nice GUI to customize those.) And then there’s my current favorite customization, custom boot images to replace the grey Apple logo you see on startup. The only problem is that my iMac never crashes and never gets shut down (it just sleeps; advanced power management is a given these days on any platform), so I never see the boot image unless there’s a power failure. And actually, I don’t even see it then, since I set it to automatically restart after a power failure (under the Energy Saver preferences, if you’re curious).
I could have worse problems.
