Semantic mapping of RSS elements

Sam Ruby has started a discussion of mapping core RSS elements to namespace-based equivalents. This is useful for developers who want to consume RSS 2.0 feeds and want to know how to handle the new namespace-based elements. Already support language? Be on the lookout for dc:language as well. And so forth. The mapping isn’t always that direct (some elements use different formats, like pubDate and dc:date), but it’s a good start to an important discussion.
