Amphetadesk 0.93.1 is now available. Here’s what’s new:
- Works again on Windows 95 and classic Mac OS. Working is a feature.
- Can emulate Radio (that is, listen on the same TCP port that Radio listens on, port 5335). Many sites offer orange coffee mug icons that allow you to subscribe to the site’s feed in one click; this feature (when turned on) allows those one-click subscription buttons to work with Amphetadesk.
- Supports rich descriptions in
content:encoded.
The one feature I was hoping to see in this version, which I do not see, is RSS autodiscovery. On the add channel
page, I would like to type diveintomark.org
and have Amphetadesk find my RSS feed at diveintomark.org/xml/rss.xml. Alas, it does not.
