I should probably point out that my blog isn’t really meant to be a technical blog, it’s just more or less worked out that way. There’s non-tech stuff scattered around, it’s just mostly technical right now. It’ll probably swing back at some point.

Yeah, mine wasn’t supposed to be a technical blog either. We are what others choose for us to be.

Mark, thanks for the links. Our Story is now featuring JavaScript dynamic curly quotes. :)

Well, gosh, thanks the pointers to Willison’s and Langridge’s Q tag javascript hacks, Mark! It’s kind of nifty how the Internet sits up and takes notice when you post something in the right place and the right time.
Folks here might be interested to know that I spoke with Merek last night via e-mail and he said that applying javascript to fix IE’s bad implementation of Q occurred to him right off. However two problems occurred to him: 1) what to do about nested quotes and 2) what to do about quote symbols in other languages. Czech quotes don’t look like English quotes, especially when nesting is involved. Then I guess there is the issue of what to do if IE 7 fixes the problem.
Anyway, humbled and grateful for all the interest in the idea. Thanks again!
Where’s that confounded bridge?
Man, “The Crunge” is possibly the only Led Zeppelin song I don’t like.
(Explanation: “Where’s that confounded bridge?” is a line from that song.)

Why have I seen that near-identical Farlops comment on 3 blogs already today?
I apologize. I was overly enthused I suppose. Sorry for wasting bandwidth folks!
“The Crunge” is probably the only Led Zeppelin song I _do_ like. On the other hand, I never met a song by the Sensational Alex Harvey Band I _didn’t_ like.
