jcgregorio hopefully my mail today derailed the ‘let’s add categories to the core’ meme
f8dy gack
f8dy categories are so easy to to badly
f8dy to do
f8dy and so hard to do well
jcgregorio yup
jcgregorio also a small poke at an issue I want to push some more, that very few people are using dc:subject correctly
f8dy god knows i’m not
jcgregorio actually, let me correct myself, I don’t know of anyone using it correctly
f8dy well you should certainly start then
f8dy lead the way
jcgregorio that’s the problem, I think using it correctly is *hard*
jcgregorio which is why I’m not pushing it much right now :)
f8dy give it to randy
f8dy he could do it in five days… in java!
jcgregorio heheh
jcgregorio I like this new schedule, I can squeeze a whole days worth of bitterness and cynicism into one hour
f8dy irc is a good medium for that
f8dy blogging takes too long
f8dy blogging bitterness, i mean
f8dy you post, then people have to visit your site, or download your feed, then they have to find your comment form, or post something on their own blog (and that assumes they have trackback or that you have some sort of referrer auto-discovery)
f8dy i just don’t have that kind of time anymore
jcgregorio yeah, by that time the bitterness is stale
f8dy yeah, i need instant bitterness gratification
jcgregorio IRC: for that fresh sqeezed bitterness
jcgregorio lol
f8dy can i blog that?
jcgregorio yes, feel free, canned freshed squeezed bitterness

This is why I’m glad most of my friends don’t read my blog. I can still blog about something, wait for the comment gratification, and in the meantime, pick up the phone, call a friend and do the whole “You won’t believe what just happened!” thing. So what if I’m double dipping. Who’s gonna stop me? :D

irc is a wonderful medium of communication.. I still use it every day to chat with my buddies..
I sign on.. I idle.. I sign off.. it’s great.

That reminds me, I really need to brush up on my DublinCore this weekend.
Speaking of categories, what the heck do your new ones mean, Mark?

Isn’t it “freshly squeezed bitterness”?
— Jesper ![]()
This seems to hint that your personal email to me wasn’t serious as you suggested.
This must be why no one ever reads my blog. I _like_ spending two hours on an entry. There’s the inconvenient sum of 120 x 0, but they’re hand-typed zeros, with a minimum of typos, and the profanity is always spelled correctly…
This was IM or IRC.

#6:
yes, you are correct: “fresh” is an adjective, whereas “freshly” is the adverb.
Pedants!
— Mark ![]()
Dude. Those are the people you want copyediting and reviewing your Book, you know. Don’t alienate ‘em. :)
So Dorothea, are you saying you want to copyedit my book? :)
— Mark ![]()
And here I’ve been going to http://www.SlashDot.org for that “fresh squeezed bitterness … figures … guess I should really IRC or IM or whatever.
I’m so behind the times.

and: http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=pedant
oh, and: Penguins are more popular than pedants, and even more popular than Adams.
