Have you noticed mysterious charges on your bank statement or credit card statement from platypustemplates.com, phone number 501-635-1699? It’s a scam; Read this article and discussion at Computer Cops for details, and contact your bank or credit card company to dispute the charges.
Do not fill out the complaint form on platypustemplates.com! They have a link something like What is Bailey Consulting Group LLC billing me for?
which links to a form that asks for all sorts of personal information. If you fill out that form, you are giving the scammers enough information to steal your identity and open credit card accounts in your name. Don’t fall for it! Pursue it through your bank or credit card company instead.
Why do I care? No, I wasn’t a victim. But the #1 search result on Google for platypus templates
currently points to this page on ragingplatypus.com, and I’ve recently started getting irate emails from people who thought I was perpetrating the fraud. For the record, I have nothing to do with it; it’s just a weird confluence of circumstances that threw me in the middle of it. But the real scammers are still at it; I just got an email from another victim this morning, which finally prompted me to investigate.
I’ve added a note about it on ragingplatypus.com and pointed to the Computer Cops article. I hope this information helps the next victim.
