I dropped my dog off at the kennel this morning. About 10 minutes after calling the kennel to see if they had any space. Nothing like waiting until the last minute.
Last night it rained. We watched “Last Comic Standing,” which is very good, except that Jay London got booted. Wah. There are two types of people in the world: people who think Jay is funny, and people I don’t understand. Anyway, we listened to the storm and laughed a lot, and when it was over, I said “Where’s the dog?” Turns out she was still outside, having never come in from her piddle. Completely drenched. I brought her in and toweled her off, and I suddenly thought out loud, “Oh my God, what are we doing about the dog tomorrow?”
Six months we’ve been planning this vacation, and we forgot about the dog until 10:30 last night. Babies are all-consuming. She’s fine now, she’s at her regular kennel and quite happy there. She’s even getting groomed at some point. Nothing like coming home to a freshly shaved dog. Preferably one that hasn’t been locked outside your own house for 5 days.
On the subject of keys, my keychain has grown a tumor: a luggage key. Yes, I’m aware they’re completely useless at deterring thieves, and they’ll make the airport lottery system even more difficult to navigate. Bah.
On the plus side, I won’t have Phil’s problem when I get back, since I don’t use an aggregator anymore. Haven’t for about six weeks. Don’t miss it. I still read blogs occasionally, if I get a minute at the end of the day. But the days are longer now, so that doesn’t happen very often.
If you absolutely must use an aggregator, I recommend BlogLines, which, I am told, has redesigned itself and is now even better than it used to be, if such a thing is possible. But really, you should ask yourself if you need to keep up with 100 or 200 or 1400 different “sources” of “content” on an hourly basis. Shouldn’t you be spending more time with your family or something? Or, if you don’t have a family, shouldn’t you be spending time building one? RSS won’t get you laid.
I’m off. Back later.
