1. As an Ubuntu user for about a year, I haven’t played with alternative window managers - your link to KFCE got me thinking maybe there’s life after gnome? Is KFCE the best option?

2. Well I don’t have an amd64 to build packages :) But packages are being uploaded to experimental these days, so hopefully you won’t have to wait so much time :)
