Our dog Adagio finally succumbed to old age several weeks ago. She was 16. I grieved, I sulked, and then I picked myself up and got another dog. His name is Beauregard:

[Beauregard]

As you can probably tell, Beauregard is a beagle/basset mix. We got him through the local beagle rescue center. We were not looking for a beagle, but you can’t choose the ones you love.

More pictures will be, you know, forthcoming.

  1. Aww, sweet! May his life inspire more confidence than his expression portrays.

  2. “Aww!” indeed. Have fun with him! Beagle/basset mixes are cute, even if they do tend to trip on their ears.

  3. Awwwww! I hope he’s less of a handful than my landlady’s basset/border collie mix; that thing’s harder work than having kids!

  5. Seriously?

I used to have a basset/beagle mix named Beauregard. Talk about memories.

  6. Beautiful! Condolences on your loss, but I hope Beauregard lives long and is happy and healthy. He looks great, and 3 cheers to you for rescuing him!
