  2. @Tom: oh bloody hell. What’s the MIME type of OpenDocument presentations? Wikipedia says application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.presentation, so I’ve added that to my .htaccess. If there’s a newer one, let me know.

  4. Mark: you are looking for DefaultType None (and a recent Apache). That will stop Apache from declaring everything it doesn’t know of to be text/plain.
